Dr Saad K Ahmed MBCHB, DPM, FRCPsych
After studying medicine and psychiatry in Baghdad, Iraq, Dr Ahmed came to the UK in 1978 and took a postgraduate course in clinical Neurology at the National Hospital for Nervous Diseases in London.
He completed his postgraduate psychiatric training in London and has been a Consultant in general adult psychiatry since 1988. His special interests are peri-natal psychiatry and the management of treatment resistant affective disorder.
He served as a member of the Royal college of Psychiatrists Board of Examiners(1997-2006) and he is the lead ECT consultant in East sussex locality of the Trust.
Dr Hamid Naliyawala MBBS, MCPS, MRCPsych
Dr Naliyawala has been on the specialist register of the GMC under general psychiatry since March 1999. His current post is consultant psychiatrist, general adult psychiatry. His special interests are the management of schizophrenia including treatment-resistant and other psychotic disorders, psychosexual disorders and depressive disorders.
Dr M Isaac MBBCH, MRCPsych, PGCert in Medical Education
Dr Isaac has completed his postgraduate psychiatric training at Guy’s scheme. He had training in Adult Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, Liaison, Substance Misuse, Community Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. His Specialist Training in Old Age and General Adult Psychiatry was through South London and the Maudsley NHS, Guy’s Scheme, which he completed in 2006.
He adopts a person centred and holistic approach with values of reprect ensuring privacy and dignity of his patients. He works with patients their carers and other professionals to deliver the best care for patients to enable them to achive better quality of life using biological, psycholigical and social interventions in a bio-psycho-social model of care.
Dr Isaac holds an academic appointment as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS). He has taught in modules organised by the postgraduate institute and in local academic programmes. He is part of the group organising and delivering the Sussex MRCPsych part I and part II Course.
He published papers on prevention of suicide at Beachy Head, The anticipated influx of East European psychiatrists and a Cochrane review on Vitamin E for Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment. He is involved in an active research programme.
Dr Isaac has special interest in Adult and Old Age mood disorder, Alcohol and drug addiction, Anxiety disorder and Psychosis. He is also interested in suicide prevention, cognitive impairment and dementia’s management and research. He is an active member of the suicide and homicide review group in East Sussex.
Dr Isaac is a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry at Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust and has had a long experience in General Adult and Old Age Psychiatry.
