Dr Declan Fitzpatrick M.B., B.Ch., B.A.O., MRCPsych
Dr Declan Fitzpatrick graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University’s medical school. His postgraduate psychiatric training was completed in Dublin and London. His specialist Registrar training was completed in the Maudsley and Bethlem Hospitals in London and the Institute of Psychiatry.
He is a Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist and also holds an academic appointment as Senior Lecturer in Guy’s Hospital London. He is also an external examiner in neuro-pharmacology for Brighton University, and is a tutor and examiner on DPP courses for universities in India, Pakistan and Egypt. He is a frequent speaker at national and international meetings on liaison and neuropsychiatry, as well as general adult psychiatry.
Dr S K Ahmed MRCPsych, FRCPsych
After studying medicine and psychiatry in Baghdad, Iraq, Dr Ahmed was employed as Registrar in Adult Psychiatry at the Yarmouk Teaching Hospital in Baghdad. He came to the United Kingdom in 1979 and took a full time postgraduate course in Clinical Neurology at the National Hospital for Nervous Diseases in London. His first post was trainee Clinical Assistant at the Maudsley Hospital, London. After a wide and varied career, which has included general Psychiatry, Liaison Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Teaching and Research Dr Ahmed now works as Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry within our local NHS Trust. He is the Trusts lead Consultant in ECT.
Dr Sayeed Ahmed MBBS
Dr Sayeed Ahmed has worked at the Clinic for many years and held the position of Director of Acute Psychiatry. He studied medicine and psychiatry in Bang lore, India, before arriving in the United Kingdom in 1973. After his first SHO post at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital in Scotland, Dr Ahmed moved to the south of England. He has since worked mainly in the local NHS Trust. He has a special interest in liaison psychiatry and also has extensive experience in medico-legal work.
DR HAMID NALIYAWALA MBBS, MCPS, MRCPsych
Dr Naliyawala has been on the specialist register of the GMC under general psychiatry since March 1999. His current post is consultant psychiatrist, general adult psychiatry. His special interests are the management of schizophrenia including treatment-resistant and other psychotic disorders, psychosexual disorders and depressive disorders.
Dr Mokhtar Isaac MBBCH, MRCPsych
Dr Isaac has worked as an associate specialist at the clinic for a number of years. His current post is Locum consultant in old age psychiatry at Milton court resource centre in Eastbourne. He is working with he multidisciplinary team providing service for older adults and he is leading the clinical decisions within the team. He has a special interest in research in old age psychiatry and is currently leading a project on "Alzheimers disease and Immunology”.
